About This File

This is a teaser or BETA version for an upcoming map of mine called Italian Streets, the finished map will feature at least a whole block of an italian town, complete with houses featuring interiors and furniture, as well as fitting cars

This BETA version (just a little teaser with what i've done so far) is actually a lot smaller than it seems, it will give you access to ONE fully furnished and detailed house, a three-floor apartment building, as well as a part of the surrounding streets and alleyways, the surrounding houses and roads are DECORATIVE ONLY and can't be accessed (well you could access them if you edited the map boundaries, but they're just empty, nothing to see there)

The map is complete with custom-made cars that fit the setting of an old italian town, most of them made by me, some of them have been seen before and a few have been made from scratch only for this map so you'll also be getting a few brand new vehicles

Do NOT ask me why all the cars are old classics but there's computers and flatscreen TVs inside the house, i WILL throw spaghetti at your face if you do!

CREDITS:

Door latch script for three-wheeler truck: Magnymbus: https://teardownmods.com/index.php?/file/764-universal-door-latch-script-now-with-sound-effects/&tab=comments

Classic Lancia car: Red-Demon

Some help and assets which i used as base: FloppyJack: https://teardownmods.com/index.php?/file/824-the-long-road/

The house is pretty damn big and i haven't ever managed to fully knock it down before my game lagged too badly, if you manage to do it show me!

This map is a well-made masterpiece and I can't wait for the finished piece! I do have some gripes about the map though, One would be the floors of the furnished building. My problem here is that the wooden beams being show seem out of place and the roof of each floor seems unfinished. I would recommend making a layer that hides the wooden beams. The second would be a recommendation which would be the ocean. I would recommend expanding the borders out into the ocean by a good enough amount to be able to drive a vehicle into the ocean without hitting the border. Also, if you do take the recommendation, I would add an unbreakable wall to the bottom part of the ground as an ocean wall to hide the underside of the map. I would recommend a 1-3 voxel thick unbreakable layer with a ladder for ease of access back onto the ground. The final gripe I've had with the map would be how fire spreads in the building. I would recommend making the staircase flammable as well as the recommended roof layer for hiding the wooden beams. This may be in the works already, but the floor at the top of the staircase that leads to the second floor needs to have flooring added to it. One other recommendation for the map would be to add some railings to the staircases. Besides all of that, I would say this is a solid map, and I am excited to see the finished product!

Response from the author:

Hi! thanks for your in-depth feedback, the exposed beams are typical of old italian houses, which is the look i was roughly aiming foritalian-house-12.jpg

The ocean (actually a river) will be expanded, just as the rest of the map, this is just a teaser of one house like the title says, right now you're just getting a sneak peek into what i've done so far, in the current dev version i already made a riverside walk with stairs going down to it as well as a little shore, but in the current pubished version that part isnt accessible since it wasnt yet done, just like most of the map, about the unbreakable wall, that also is already fixed in the dev version and i'm doing my best so you cant just dig out of the map which is a problem in the teaser. The stairs already have railings in the dev version (i thought the finished did too but i must have added it after) The only part i dont think i can address is the fire spread, i've tries always using the correct materials for the whole house so the fire probably spreads how it realistically would

A well made level with a lot of detail put into it and is perfect for destruction. I've used this for a few hours and I'm already stuck to it, the level design makes it easy to test mods and I'm interested in how this will look when it's finished 🙂

A really fun teaser for what i believe will be an absolutely amazing amp.

I got very real battlefield vibes when i chucked a tank in there to start blowing things up.

The sheer detail within the buildings is really nice to see as they do seem believable that people would live there.
